Connector is constantly jammed from SH

This connector I pointed to keeps getting jammed up from the SH. I soak it in water after flushing and even put daily doses of liquid wrench. When I am on top of the ladder doing roof wash it is super difficult to fumble with and switch tips. Any advice?

Use viton Orings, put a new SS QC on ,liquid wrench etc won’t help,it actually attracts dirt when not in use, flush your whole system out from injector to tip after use, every time, using a fiver full of fresh water to flush…

before replacing it with a new QC, test it with the nipples from your jrod.
Then and only then replace it.
Also this helps…

Get an m5ds you can just twist it to change from fan to shooter. You never have to take it off.

I use to have this problem when I soaked everything in WD-40. The WD-40 made my o-rings swell. Just flush like Hotshot said and that should fix your problem.

I like silicone spray.

Thanks @Hotshot! I’ll try it out.

The balls are actually getting stuck, looks like rust. I flush and clean them as well

@sgb IM ORDERING md53 super
Excited thanks a million. It’s going to be like heaven at the top of the ladders spinning this bad boy!

You only lube the outer bearings with wd40 while holding down the collar. Plumbers lube/ silicone on the oring side

I went back to using brass quick connects with viton o-rings on my ball valve. I use red axle grease on the inner and outer bearings once every few weeks. I had one brass QC last me all season last year. I’ve only replaced one this year. I’ve bought Hanson QC and other stainless steel and they lock up on me. Brass seems to work like butter for me for some reason.

I have a M5DS permanently attached to a 5 inch nipple on my 2315 gun…no QC…for two years now. Works like a champ.

Could be a cheap quick connect. Where did you get it from? Different brands fit differently.

Go to a pool store and buy some pool and spa lube. Its made to work with chlorine.

Do you use this?

My father in law just told me about that a few weeks ago. I’m gonna try it and see how long it holds up.

It should hold up great. When I was in the pool business we strictly used Magic Lube. That stuff spreads easily but stays where you put it. I’m assuming the Leslie’s stuff is identical just re-branded.

Ya it’s good stuff.

@DisplacedTexan better be glad you moved out of Texas. Check out the news right now. 2 vehicles riding around shooting and another man shooting uo a home depot.

Who has the best prices on quick connects? I bought a bunch from envirospec awhile back but cant remember what i paid.

I just got the notification. This world is going to Hell in a handbasket. I hope they put a round in all of their heads and save the taxpayers some time and money. That’s just freaking terrible.

If it was happening here i would be out searching for them.

One just hijacked a usps van. They are thinking it is related to the shooting going on in india right now too.

I saw that. Too bad they didn’t hijack my old mail man’s truck. He kept his strap on him at all times. If I were in Midland/Odessa I’d be out looking for them with my West Texas buddies. They’d love to put down a POS like that
