Cant wait to build a new machine!

Wanna do an 8gpm build… I’m thinking a harbor freight engine, with an udor and gearbox or something…

I’ll be following you, I have the exact same plan…

For like 1300 or so, I can build an 8gpm setup, with the harbor freight big predator motor… versus the 3 thousand dollars I’d need for a basic 8gpm cold water setup. I’m going to be building everything from here on out, because these companies LOVE taking us for a ride. Lmfao.

There’s at least one good thread on it. Lots of good reasons both to do it and not to do it. My current rig is Honda powered but I’d like to try it too. Rob Anderson of YouTube fame has at least one Predator set up.

You’ll be more like 2-2300 to build the 8gpm when your all said and done.

Really nothing to build…bolt the pump/gear box to the engine, mount unloader block, and screw in thermal relief valve

I’m currently Honda powered too. But I wanna try it for sure !

Yep. General consensus is, the predator motors could be a great deal if you can afford to have the machine out of service in the event of a breakdown. Otherwise, one good day of lost income will negate the initial savings.

Agreed Alex ! I’ll have backup Honda machines. So I’ll be fine. That should do til I can save up for a gx690 and another pump and gearbox. My goal is to have by year after next; a small fleet. In turning my ram into a flatbed, gonna have a 5.5gpm machine on it with a small buffer, 12v, reels, the works! And its gonna be used in the city where theres plenty of water! As well as a NEW truck to pull the trailer rig with the 8gpm and ibc rig, and to have a box truck as well with an 8gpm, 4 gpm, and 12v setup in there… along those lines ! At least two fleet vehicles. The box truck might come after that year but we’ll see !
