Can someone help me identify this?

I just pulled this REALLY heavy plate out of a f250 I just purchased, but I’m curious about what’s it for (And I’m trying to sell it or get rid of it), has anyone seen anything like this before?

It serves a few purposes which are all completely obvious by looking at it. No clue if it’s a name brand, mass-produced thing or not but I’ve seen them in a few trucks. Mainly 2WD trucks.

1: Added weight for traction.

2: Additional anchor points midway in the bed.

3: Flat surface for loads instead of the ribbed floor.

@DisplacedTexan well that’s what I thought it was too! Thank you, now let’s see if someone wants it lol. @Racer I was expecting to find a ton of rust underneath honestly, but once I took it off the bed was in perfect shape, the paint wasn’t even scratched except for a couple high spots where the plate would constantly rub on to, now it’s time to bed line the crap out of it!

It did it’s job.

That metal isn’t cheap and with tie downs on it, it will sell easily. How much you asking?

Dang it! I knew there had to be a good reason to leave it in place! Now I’m not strong enough to put it back on lol

@Dirtyboy Haven’t listed it yet, It’s still sitting on my back yard I have no clue how much it could cost

Just to give you an idea, a 3/16" 4x8 sheet costs about 200 before shipping. Throw in the fact that it has 2 tie downs on it, has been painted, has a raised edge, and has holes drilled for a bed, I would think asking 200-225 should get it out of your yard fairly quickly. If you were getting this made, I would bet you would be paying 400 or more at a shop.

I could see some tradesmen needing this item.
