Is that the wand of death? :joy:

In my defense I also carry an adjustable 4 to 8ft wand and that’s been perfect. I brought this because he asked if I’d specific clean something up pretty high for him.
I bought this home depot pole because it was available in the store and anything else id have to order. Welp. Was worth a shot. Now I’ll buy racers recommended pole. I’ll never go against what he says again

That’s a pole man, not a wand.
I thought you had this

At least it came from HD, you can just walk in and exchange it. Of course, everyone will be laughing because you can’t get your pole down, lol.

oh hell no. no way. i think i have a 6 inch galvanized wand and that does it for me.

@Racer that was my thought exactly. i ended up using two channel locks and beating it down. i am never attempting to extend that POS again and giving it right back to home depot. I dont know whats worse. having only one set of channel locks with me while working and needing two or securing that busted thing in in my 5.5ft bed and having to drive around with it. hahah

Did you put pool noodles on it? Asking for a friend…

What is that pole for?

I have an 8 ft pole for around the house scrubbing and that 23ft one was going to be for the boat condos because they were 24ft. Not a regular thing i bring so far!

The one in Jason’s photo is yours? What’s wrong with you?

@Racer

Ok here we go. Was a balmy 50 degrees out today so did that first condo building. It cleaned up relatively well except for the top. I think I’d need a lift, or stronger SH to make it work because the brush I brought didn’t didn’t touch that stuff at all. I wasnt too concerned with it as they didn’t want to pay enough for me to use a lift so it is what it is on that front.

I had a bit of a cursed run today. The barb came out on on my pressure washer hose at the water source so the dang thing was running dry for a bit because that happened while I was scrubbing of course. Then my downstream injector took a dump on me but swapped it out and all was well after that.

There was some staining on the top and rustyness on the bottom that looked similar but less so if that makes sense. The crazy thing was that no amount of pressure would remove that stained stuff but if I took my shoe and rubbed it for like 30 seconds would come off or lessen. Even hit a spot with an oscillating tip and that didn’t do anything. I’m kind of confused about that one. My brush didnt do anything to it either. I used a soft and a wire brush and neither put a dent in this, it was so weird that the fabric of my shoe would.

Where’s the before photos?

I think that’s them above. Think they’re mixed in. On that top part, did you try taking your ladder and rubbing it. A brush with right chem should take that right off.

They are mixed in. Apparently my new phone isn’t digging the upload on here. It’s ard to describe but it’s like it’s faded. Some sort of reaction or something? Yeah I hit it with the brush @Racer and the stuff didn’t move one bit. 3ven changed from soft brush to wire brush. It definitely has thrown me for a loop. That’s when I pulled out the oscillating tip and even that didn’t do anything right up on it. Craziest thing I’ve seen in my short time doing business.

how strong a mix you using. Were you using your 12v up at top?

I was downstreaming. My straight bleach (7.5) and degreaser. Didn’t bring my 12v setup with me. I have a roof tomorrow so will have that In the truck. Will bring that with me tomorrow if I get done early enough and see if that works.

To clarify, I think the stuff at the very top can be cleaned, but I’m talking about the staining at the top of the garage doors.

Both. You may need to hit several times even with 12V. Carry a ladder if you have one that tall so you can get up there and see and feel it. If a flat roof, may be able to get up there and just walk along with rag or brush to get off. What are you using for degreaser?

I brought simple green, purple degreaser that’s not zep, and my normal go to which is called orange cling but didn’t notice a difference between the 3 which probably means they are ALL garbage :joy:

What percentage are we talking with the 12v? I have a 22ft ladder but that’s not gonna hit the top of the building to get on the roof.

I have a 2 gallon sprayer that I could load super hot with SH on one of those garage doors on the a frame ladder and see if that works.

Hilariously enough the guy passed a bid because people wanted to use a lift and he doesn’t want to pay that much. I could see how owning one about right now might pay off in the long run.

I’d think owning the means to transport a lift around would be more of an issue than the lift itself…maybe find a deal on an old bucket truck? IDK

About a 4-5% mix.

Whew! Today was a scorcher! It was over 70 degrees today. Knocked out a house wash, roof, and deck from hell and beat my high score for earnings in a single day!

Afterwards i went back to the boat condo. I hit a garage door with straight bleach and some surfactant. that dingy staining isnt going anywhere. I dont know what it is, but its not budging at 7.5% Multiple passes and plenty of dwell time. Whatever it is…its there to stay.

Good news is I was able to clear some of that top crud off using that same mix. Bad news is that im going to have to use that ladder and redo/rinse the whole building but thats not too terrible for figuring out how to beat that problem! I figure it will go much quicker with the next buildings as i can hit two bay doors width at a time, start at the top with the spray on my tippy toes with the ladder, and then just business as usual and it shouldnt take me much longer than when i did it last time.

Gotta say, the worst part of this job is dealing with the lookie lous. You got everyone and their brother coming up being d*ckheads or giving you their 2 cents about how i need to do things and messing up my workflow.
