Best Lessons Learned

Here’s a couple I unfortunately had to learn today:

If you don’t buy the exact same kind of quick connects, HP bushings, etc every time the large wrenches you carry for the old ones may not fit the new ones.

So I’m ordering doubles of everything from 19mm to 26 mm since those should work on everything from 3/4 to 1 inch.

Also, carry 3 of every fitting you use and wrap a piece of painters tape around the 3rd one before you put it in the kit so when you get to the last one you know you need to restock.

So as I’ve been kickin’ butt recently without any equipment failures, I have been thinking about the best lesson I’ve learned from @Innocentbystander, and that is the importance of supplier relationships over saving money. I see posts where folks are trying to find a different supplier to squeeze a few more dollars out of a major purchase only to find no support after the sale or problems with the discounted item not holding up.

I am grateful to have learned from IBS that it’s far better to buy from the right folks and know that you will get what you paid for and not have issues, than to save a few dollars only to be sitting on the sidelines with equipment failures. Thanks, IBS.

Just curious, what was your mix ratio for the oxalic on the shingles? I’ve been looking and can’t seem to find much about it on shingles!

I mix up a 5 gallon bucket of oxalic with 5 heaping cups of powder and use that ratio for everything.
