Beginner Set-Up (Weekend Driveways Initially)

I’ll try to keep it short:

Would like to powerwash residential driveways, walkups, etc. on the weekend, then go from there.

This is the set-up I am considering and welcome all feedback, questions, etc.

Too much? Too little? (Planning on starting with driveways, seeing where it takes me).

Anything missing I need in terms of equipment?

Any good insurance companies recommendations? Stay away from? Other legal considerations? (In the process of establishing single-member LLC)

I live in Houston if anyone is aware of mentors available or some form of mentor network (willing to pay reasonable amounts for coaching/consulting, during initial phases).

Thanks for any and all feedback, if anyone has questions, considerations, or comments based on experience I would appreciate it.

Take care.

Starting with just driveways is going to be tough. You would be better off testing the market and try to book 10 or so on a weekend and rent a machine. I would bet you would have a hard time booking 10 for a weekend.

Driveways at least in my area are a hard sell.

I agree with @SchertzServicesLLC to rent a machine and schedule a few driveways just to see if you even like it. You can rent a 4gpm machine but it’s slow for flatwork. You’ll also need a 16 inch surface cleaner to go with your PW if you’re doing driveways. People in my area don’t care that much about their driveways so I rarely just do a driveway…usually an add on. However, a friend of mine in FL does pressure washing with a 4gpm machine and people do care about their driveways down there. But I would at least try it out first…get a pair of cheap rubber boots as you’ll get pretty dirty

Huston has a market similar to most of FL with better price. I know because I spend a lot of time researching that market because I was going to move there several years ago. Finding customers and testing your market is not what you need to worry about rite now. Getting your COMMERCIAL equipment and learning how to use it is we’re you need to start. FYI Huston has a massive market . It’s the 3rd largest city in the us . Plus it’s well within the algae belt so home get dirty quick

Here is an equipment list another member posted a while back. It is a pretty good list for starting out.

Just wanted to stop by and tell everyone thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

All the best.

There is a high school kid around here doing the same as you… only driveways.

He charges $30… and they dont look good.

Any updates OP? Start up threads never come back to say how things are going. Maybe that’s a sign
