Anyone use these tanks?

I just picked up a tank like this on a trade…the local water and sanitation crews use them mounted to trailers but to me that doesent mean their truly functional…I’ve seen the state do some weird stuff…does anyone run one of these tanks for water transport if so how is it on water slosh…it looks like it would be good for weight distribution of the water…and it takes up a bit more space than a tote

Really nobody…

A guy who works in my area has one on his trailer. I only ever see them doing gas stations and they have a very old school setup. Old, beat-up looking Alkota and no hose reels???

Not very helpful I know but that’s all I got.

They are storage tanks not transport tanks .
Probably not DOT approved
Probably have less wall thickness than transport tanks
Would be difficult to strap down
Is it the correct tool for the job NO do people still do it YES just like people use tote tanks to haul around SH knowing the walls are paper thin.

Never saw the post. As stated above they are storage tanks. Will work in a pinch but not the right tank. Also with a flat bottom you will never get all the water out.

If you’re using it as a buffer, your best bet imo is either a tote, or a horizontal leg. The horizontal leg pulls and brakes better too…

I’ll probably just sell it I’ve really got enough tanks… I didn’t know that they were just for storage and not for transport but that was actually a big help thank you for the info… in my mind I was thinking 500 + gallon tank great for hauling water to places where I don’t have water and it’s a lot bigger than a 275 gallon tote

There is a Marina by me that has a gas pump to fill your boat up. I seen him at a gas station filling a 375 gallon tote up with gas to bring back to his marina to sell it for more. Im pretty sure transporting gas it one of those is breaking some kind of law.
