Any of you guys have to park your trailer in public?

I’m in the process of putting together my rig and the one issue that I can’t figure out is storage and security. I can only park 1 vehicle in my complex with parking pass. There are covered spaces for rent but that would void my open parking pass, so I definitely can’t park my trailer there.
So my other options are to park the trailer on the street, find a storage yard in my area, or park it 15 miles away at my mom’s house.
I haven’t looked into storage yards yet because I really don’t want another added cost. The street is my most convenient option but I’m worried about security. Cars get broken into in my area all the time but someone would have to be super ballsy to hack my whole trailer. Not that it wouldn’t happen, but I may be just trying to talk myself into it.
Has anyone out there faces a similar situation? What security measures have you taken when parking your trailer outside? My trailer is 5x8 with a 4 ft gate and side rails.

Park it at your your Mother’s place. You’ll most likely get ticketed if you park it on the street depending on where you live. If cars are getting broken into often, it’s another good reason to not park it out there.

Look into renting a space at a storage yard. You might find something really reasonable. Otherwise, do as Max said and park it at your mother’s place.

Or find someone with a house/driveway that’ll rent you space.

How old are you @tnunez66 ? I think your momma did enough raising ya.
Leave the poor woman be. Go get it parked at a local fenced-in storage area, with security. Your rig will be safe and to boot ,your momma will be proud of her boy for doing it on his own. Winner, winner chicken dinner …

 Good point

Agree, storage area. Don’t risk it on the street, I had a 5x8 utility trailer stolen out of my sidewalk one night, they dragged it down the road as I had the wheel locked.

Rent a place. You’ll be glad to have somewhere to store all of the extra stuff you’ll be acquiring as your business grows.

I had to leave my rig at the last project we did overnight. I was worried about it every second.

Rent a secure space!

Tracking devices don’t stop vandalizing. I have a guy (home depo pressure washer company kinda guy) in the city over that rubs me the wrong way. He’s left bad reviews on my page and hijacked my paid Facebook posts.

Would not put it past him to destroy equipment.

Edited to keep the peace

I’m going to consider a motorcycle alarm and tracking device. Thanks

I had to park on the street, last december thieves came and cut the locks off with a zip cutter and just took the whole damn trailer. Will not make that mistake ever again.

Thanks. I’m going to avoid parking on the street all together if I can.

If you do make sure you have insurance and maybe some renters/owners/business insurance. If the thieves really want your stuff they will take it no matter what, dont forget these things are just DETERRENTS. And cameras dont even matter unless they can identify the people or license plate, and even if they do you most likely aint gonna get your stuff back
