Any hope for this hose?

I’ve taken this hose to a repair shop twice and I keep blowing the end fitting off. At first it was connected to the reel and I thought it was too much pressure on the end of the hose as I was winding it up so I switched it to the end of another section of hose and it happened again. Is the guy using the correct fitting?

I bought a couple of these off of Ebay and they have held up well. I used a grinder to cut a clean cut on the hose and then thread on the outer piece counter clock wise and then inserted the inner piece with pipe tape and haven’t had an issue. It almost looks like they stripped back the rubber coating on the hose to attach it.

The person that repairs my hose, let me know that after dragging it on the ground for a while the OD wears down and the fittings don’t clamp as good as they do when new. I only get 2 repairs out of a hose then I toss them.

That’s why I went to 2 wire. It last longer. 1 wire is hard to get them to seet right on the fittings. I went through a bunch of fittings.

Try taking it to a hydraulic shop or a farm implement place if you’re in an agricultural area. I’m thinking it wasn’t pressed on correctly.

Thanks guys. I took my chicken crap hose to another hydraulic shop yesterday. We’ll see how things go this weekend!

It’s not pressed correctly. Wow. Talk about dangerous.

That shouldn’t happen. It’s permanent if done correctly and they have to be cut off to be removed.

The crimp spec is wrong for sure.

If the hose is rotted no crimp can fix that. Replace the hose .
I repair hoses all the time if there damaged by someone running them over. But if there about a year old I’ve found there not worth fixing.

Get a new hose. Is it really worth the time it takes to change out hose on the job? Why keep fixing something that isn’t that expensive if it keeps breaking?

I’ve always heard it’s hard to make chicken soup outta chicken poo.:hatching_chick::poop:

I go through hoses every 4-5 weeks on every truck. Throw that damn hose away and stop being silly
