Am I missing something here

New belt drive set up and won’t suck from tank

Feed it with a garden hose off a spigot first …then go back to what your doing

Usually is the fix

Myne wouldn’t pull…hooked it up to a spigot …ran 30 seconds. Hooked back up and it pulled.

And make sure you nozzle is open so the air can escape.

Also…get rid of the plastic barbs , that’s not your problem now, but it will be next week

Have you tried priming it first? Might be an airlock in the pump. You also might try filling the tank with more water to create head pressure and then let it force the water through the pump. Try it without the pressure hose attached. I can do that with my direct drive back up PW.

I worked fine when I hooked up to water hose then hooked back up to tank and nothing

Fill tank full, unscrew the inlet plug on the otherside of the machine. Water should flow through and clear all air out. If water foes not flow through then there is something blocking it.

You may need to remove the black return hose at the water inlet and cap it. Then run the opposite end from the unloader to the tank.

You have to bypass to the tank. Plus, what someone else said, crack the head bolt on opposite side to purge any air.

If it’s a pull start leave if in off position and pull it a few times. You can see if water is moving towards machine.

By pass! It need’s to be routed to a buffer

Need to put you a filter between buffer and machine also.

Changing tanks today, and you would not believe the crud that comes from city water. I’ve only had one house wash in the past year that was well water, and I know it didn’t come from that. Makes me glad I filter mine in the house before drinking it.

Lots of great advice here…What @Clean_Blue said about leaving in off position and pulling a few times to pull water in worked for me when I had a new pump with buffer tank. Start it with no gun on the end…just an open hose… will help get the air out. Definitely put a filter between pump and tank and get that black hose off there and bypass back to tank. That’s one of the main benefits of having a tank when you’re off the trigger. Brass plugs are cheap

Take the clear filter off completely where ur unloader hose is bypassing to now!! Most that use them there machine are force feed from a spicket. They don’t work well on gravity feed will starve ur pump!! Bypass hose to tank and install a banjo filter. Just put a brass Barb on the inlet of ur pump. A block for ur unloader will help to.

This is the clear filter I’m referring to. Looks like it has one on there. I see alot of washers plumbed to a buffer tank and they leave it on. Will burn ur pump up. If u close the ball valve on ur tote and hook a garden hose to the ball valve on the right . It will prime it and then just open the valve on the tote. Be a good way to winterize it to.

As stated, remove that plastic hose barb, reroute the bypass back to the tank, leave the switch off and disconnect anything on the outlet side of the machine then pull it over a few times and it should squirt some water out. It’s just got air in the system.

Silly thought, but you do have a vent in the top of that buffer tank?

Also, the bypass to tank is not part of why it won’t start, just what you should do to make use of the tank you have right there.

Speaking of the tank - it wouldn’t hurt to have it elevated above the inlet of your machine. If the water level ever gets that low, you won’t have gravity feed at all being level like that.

Remove the high pressure hose from your unloaded then turn the machine on and let the water run through for a second. Then reattach your pressure hose and your good to go.
