Hello, friends & experts,
Could I please put this scenario to you for comment:
I am currently building an 8gpm Honda powered 3500 PSI gear drive.
Given a gear drive pulls water, can I plumb from the top of the buffer tank? I don’t wish to perforate the bottom of the tank.
Please let me have your thoughts. I appreciate in advance the time taken to contemplate this.
Thank you
Jeremy

It’s a water tank, not the hull of your yacht (and there’s penetrations through that too). Don’t try and reinvent the wheel…it may pull enough to work OK, but why bother.

Thank you for responding - in Australia the price of these tanks resemble the price of a small Yacht! If I must, then I will.
Anyone else have any thoughts before I proceed?
if it’s your buffer tank it likely will only serve that purpose. you can plug them easily, just in case your configuration changes.

Stick a drop tube in and see before drilling a hole. How do you feed the gx390?

Good point. Currently the GX390 direct to customer spigot. High local water pressure. Thank you for your suggestion.
