4 Orings , swivel, and a dead battery and now this

It’s probably fuel related. Check you filters . Check to make sure your choke is really off. Check your pulse fuel pump.
Check your fuel quality.

I’m using non ethanol, only one place close to me that sells it. I’ve changed a fuel filter on it once already. It’ll run pulsing like that until you hook a gun up to it. Sc/ trigger wand hook it up pull , shuts off. Still fuel thinking it’s fuel related?

It will pulse then start like it normally does with no hose. Hook up 50ft hose still flowing no pulsing.
Add gun or SC pulses sprays for a min dies.

here it is no hose running as should.

I still think it’s fuel related. But you can also check the ignition system with one of these. $5
It will tell you if you have a bad coil or plug

I think the bad fuel siphoned itself through. It’s running with no pulsing or issues now. Sunoco is supposed to be ethanol free but did notice some crystallization and filter is less than a month old.

Is it a Pressure Pro? They had some bad fuel tanks a while back that would gum up the filter. You could say it looked like crystals. There was a flaky substance lining the tank. I went the 6 filters before it all was flushed out. Runs like a champ now

It wouldn’t fire if it were a bad coil, that just provides a spark to the piston. It’s either bad fuel or carburation if you ask me. I could be wrong though

I had the same problem as Harold with a bad fuel tank (I think I am the one who discovered it with them. They had a whole bunch of bad fuel tanks - after 4-5 days on the phone with their master techs, I finally figured out what it was - they kept trying to say it was low water. Messed up my burner as well since it was running when it would happen. Had to take that apart and replace the insulation since is was saturated with fuel due to the engine pulsing). You would get flakes and crystals in the fuel filter. I would change a filter and it might run good for a few minutes or a few hours. I eventually had to remove the fuel tank, siphon the gas out, filter the gas through coffee filters, clean the inside of the tank out and put it all back together. Since then I have only had a couple of issues with this that a new filter would do the trick. I also found at this time going through filters like crazy that you have to make sure to get a filter that provides enough flow. 1 time I got the only thing Auto Zone had and it did not have enough flow for the engine.

It is! hit 51hrs today. This will be fuel filter #2 this month. I’m running the fuel out now gonna pick up a couple new filters. Hopefully that’s all it is and it’ll run itself out on its own thanks @Harold

Will definitely look into flow rate on filters. I might be coming for some pointers on how to clean out this tank if the problem keeps coming up.

Brand new from pp cracked pump had to be replaced and now a bad fuel tank geez.

Didn’t they get bought out by some Chinese outfit or were supposed to be last year?

Sad ,ain’t it …

It certainly will run one one cylinder.
Also when coils go bad they still will show a week spark. You need to test the ignition under load . Best to do it inside or at night. You will see much more detail

Are you seeing flakes or crystals in the fuel filter at all?

@CFH

Yep, that is your problem. It only takes a small amount to clog the filter enough to restrict flow causing the engine to pulse.

Call me at 512-900-1235. I can walk you through how to clean out the tank. Here is a pic of how much junk I got out of my tank, the lighter was for size reference…

@CFH :flushed: Did PP even make it right with the burner when you showed them that pic?
That’s ALOT of gum!!!

I’m about to head to AL right now. Can I give you a call on Sunday when I get back? What time works best for you?

They sent me a used 50 ft hose and new insulation for the burner. I did all the work as the closest “authorized” repair shop was about an hour away and would take 2-3 days for them to do it.

Ewwwee that looks nice . I’ve had that issue before on a 4wheeler when I used cheap fuel line . Looked just like that

We’re the tanks fiberglass? Or fiber reenforced plastic tanks ?
