How does it look?

Looks great! Go ahead and fill us in on the process you used so that future searchers can benefit as well!

Take the same after pic to match the before pic. That way we (or whoever) can see the difference in the same spot. That one spot in the before pic looks a lot worse, so I’d love to see how that area turned out. I always pull up my before pics and make sure I am standing in the same basic spot, and the same angle. That way you can compare apples to apples. I tried to upload one of my before and afters to give an example, but every pic I have it says is to large to upload, sorry. Looks good though.

I do this too. Or as close as possible at least.

@DisplacedTexan not sure if the US store has it, but get the app below and no watermarks :+1:t2:

Yep, that is comparing apples to apples. I usually try and put some landmark or easily distinguishable thing in the pic so there is no doubt your looking at the same thing in both pics. I also paid the couple of dollars to remove the watermark from the app company.

I don’t have an iPhone but I think this is the same one?

Look at the one your using if you like it. Usually it’s only a couple of bucks to get the watermark removed.

Yes! It’s pretty awesome :sunglasses:

No watermarks and free.

Perfect. I actually really like the one I’m using but I don’t really have a ton of pictures for my portfolio yet so I haven’t bothered paying for anything. My website is not up yet so these just go on my Facebook page so it’s not the worst thing if someone sees the watermark. I’ll download it and check it out.

Cool :+1:t2:

Posting pictures to Google Business is very important.

(More important than Facebook for me as Facebook doesn’t give you website ranking at all)

You’re missing out on so much if you’re not using the Google Business app :+1:t2:

I just downloaded it the other day but I’ve been busy with contractors in and out doing repairs on my home. For a 26 year old “millennial” I am so far behind the technology curve it’s not even funny. The 20 or so jobs I have done have all been word of mouth and people stopping me to ask for a quote. I can sell ice to an eskimo so I don’t lack any skills in that area but I just need to get in front of the customers. I am hoping the website will help do that. I’ve considered Home Advisor but I hear mixed reviews on here so I haven’t looked into it much.

Google is big on engagement. Even great websites can fail if people “bounce”’ off them in seconds. The thing with pictures is, it draws attention and TIME.

Google will analyse how much time people spend looking, compare it to competitors and rank you accordingly.

There’s so many variables and algorithms other than that - but engagement of audience is high up there to make Google people’s first choice.

The opposite is having no pics, Google will see that people aren’t interested, not looking and discount you over someone else.

From Google…

“Many customers find businesses through Google Search and Maps. Google focuses on how customers find your listing on Search and Maps, and what they do after they find it.”

I literally have no competing businesses here because they just don’t know.

You’re 100% right. I spent about 10 hours last week sitting down with local web designers and SEO/SOO companies to figure out what I should be doing. They gave me a boatload of useful information and now I have a better idea of where to start. Unfortunately, one of them quoted me over $8,000 to build a custom site and wanted $125/mo to host on their servers. I wrote them a very polite email saying that I did not have that type of budget at this time all while laughing hysterically because those hipsters think they’re slick meanwhile I’m getting quotes for 10 page custom sites for $1,500 from more well established designers in the area. I just need to devote a few days to doing as much as I can by myself through Google to better my odds.

Wow. I pay $15 per month to host three sites. Granted I built them, but still. Makes you think what the monthly charge is all about!?!

Hey by the way, I notice you and I always seem to be on here late at night (for me at least) so I am wondering what time it is in the outback? Is there a simple equation that I can memorize?

Bloody hell! It’s almost 1am there :joy:

…it’s almost 5pm here (Tuesday evening).

I’m from the future!

Yeah brother. Insomnia is terrible. That’s amazing that there is such a disparity between us. So, what’s for dinner?!

Oh man isn’t it! I’ve only just started to get a good few hours sleep.

I’ve been going to bed “thinking” I won’t sleep and…well, I don’t grrr.

Always thinking is my problem, switching off is hard.

Dinner will be a bloody barbie mate :joy:
