I went local for 12.5% last week cheapest place gallon wise, was a pool place. 7.50 gallon. I then went to Wally World picked up 4 gallons 10% $3.64 gallon.
Went home washed my home, granted wasn’t that bad except the north side the Straight 10% did fine. W/ elemonator.
Some figures
8gpm, straight 10%, 5 min dwell, m5 nozzle 200’ hose
Takes roughly 2 mins to spend a gallon of sh with my flow rate.
Just starting out I’m not to concerned with my SH situation. I can spring for the higher price until I get spun up.
Just want to thank you guy that contribute the info, it’s helped me avoid wasting time and money.
I’m slowly collecting soft washing gear as I learn.
It’s not about the strength of the original SH, it’s about the strength hitting the surface. 12.5% tends to be cheaper IF you find the right sellers. Also you don’t have to deal with the gallon jugs.
Step down to a 3-5 gpm (2.1 orifice) injector, and you can ds straight sh just fine on that 8 gpm. I run about 18:1 ds’ing straight 12.5. Takes about 2-3 mins to get rid of algae. Same injector on my 5.5 gpm (pulleyed down to a 4gpm. Don’t ask) pulls at 10:1. Had to mix 50/50 to ds.
I ds straight 12.5 running 3-5gp hi draw on 8gpm. 4-5 minute dwell time and many times repeat applications. I tried adding water and wasn’t happy with the results. The only plants I ever killed from ds was the bush in my front yard that I experimented on. I sprayed it with soap and walked away. All the leaves fell off and it grew back 2 weeks later. Pre and post rinsing works and is necessary was the result of that experiment.
