1. What's your close rate? 2. How do you bid?

I have just started using Markate and so far I like it. Everything I’ve been told about the two is they work well together. I think I will sign up for sendjim and test it out. I like the idea of automatically sending cards to the next door neighbors. I’ve also signed up for sotellus and we will see if that’s worth having.

RB works well with several CRMs. I thought about Markate or ServiceMonster, but we woulnd up back with Jobber for the time being. I think you’ll like SoTellUs, we have it for both our primary businesses. The conversion rate to GMB/FB is pretty good if it’s linked properly. They have a chat bot for your website now too. I know a few guys have some content about using SendJim over on YT, IDK if it would be of any help to you or not.

Yes I have the new chat box, but wonder if it should be kept if I want it all going through responsibid. I thought you had switched to markate this year. Im sure its a fair amount of work to transfer everything. Right now im trying to figure out what I want to put in the three different packages…

It was the leading candidate at one point, ServiceMonster was the likely winner before that…in the end, we went back to Jobber for this year, as there may be some other possibilities in the offing down the road. Didn’t make sense to go to something new for a short-term move.

My cl9se rate sucks because we dont wash houses, only flat surface. Later this year we may add house wash and roofs. Ive done plenty of roofs but I know roofs normally encure an additional fee on insurance premiums and before I do that I also want to build my 12 volt. Right now we mostly just x jett as i normally need 3% plus on flat surface. Added vinal fences into the mix as we can downstream most of them and use a pump up for heavier soiled areas. My buisness is doing great but we need to add more services to it, something I wont do till Im 100% confident on all the tools, education, and more insurance. I see a prosperous future but Rome was not built in a day. I use to co-teach sales seminars in the SCUBA industry around the country so I can close. But not till i feel ready.

Do you guys feel over the phone estimates are better then email I feel like my close rate was much higher when I was doing them over the phone ? Thank you

Just curious, what is keeping you from doing house washes? If you’re doing flat work you must have everything you need to do houses, right?

Yes im pretty well equipped. Im sure I know what I need to know about house washing, but everyday, everyday I see peoplw with all different levels of experience pisting how do i clean this, fix that, etc. Seems a lot can go wrong with it. Althow i have been considering it lately.

It’s not all that complicated to wash houses imo, and I’d be willing to bet you could pick it up an afternoon or less as you already know the general idea of how to work with the equipment. Really, you just have to remember to pre-rinse all stained surfaces right before and after washing around them (think front doors, porch ceilings, etc), tape power outlets and doorbells with blue painters tape, rinse windows and don’t let your mix dry on them (otherwise you might have to scrub them to get the mix off), apply mix bottom to top for cedar siding and rinse top to bottom, don’t wash dark colored painted houses (blues, blacks, grays, reds, greens). We use 5 gallon buckets from home depot to make our mix on site as we downstream, but you can dial yours in with information here as far as percentages with the xjet. You should go for it, you already have the skills.

Are you not washing dark houses due to the organic pigments commonly found in the Sherwin Williams paints?

That’d be my guess, you can also fade sopme paints if you’re not careful. Just do a test spot with a sufficiently hot mix in an inconspicuous spot, and if it holds up to that, you should be good to go.

When i do test spots i do a small hidden spot with 5 or 10%. If it can take that it can take lower.

That is correct. Doing a test spot is good, but for folks that are unsure or new I find it easiest to avoid them altogether.
