Pressure Pro belt drive 5gpm buffer tank issue

I am building a buffer tank for my belt drive 5gpm unit. I have the hose outlet from the buffer tank about 1" lower than the inlet on the machine and it doesn’t pull enough water.

Don’t the belt driven units actually draw water so it shouldn’t matter about the height difference or am I wrong here?

Yes it should draw fine, mines probably a 5" difference. Any kinks in your line? What size line are you using and have to checked for air leaks. Maybe it’s sucking air.

It’s braided 3/4 I.D line, no kinks, it does have a very small drip in a connector I just noticed, I’ll repair that and try again!

Another thing to check for is to make sure the tank is vented. If it’s not vented, it will make drawing water very difficult.

You were right! it had to have been sucking air. Pulled the connection, new teflon tape, and it is performing much better! As of right now the tank is very vented because I cut a 6" hole in the top for access to the hudson float valve!

Good deal! And yup…I’d say that’s vented. Lol
