I’m trying to build a trailer setup . According to the law if my truck and trailer is over 10,001 lb I supposed to have DOT stamped on my truck. I have a f150 wanting to pull a 16ft trailer. Is everyone doing this ?
We don’t pull trailers for many reasons but this is one of the biggest. I am sure there are lot of “professional” companies out there blowing this law out of the water.
I’m trying to explore other option but I’ve already bought a skid unit.
The rules are probably different depending on which state you are in but around here I think you just need a CDL to tow over 10k pounds. Your trailer shouldn’t weight that much anyway unless you are hauling large amounts of water. An F150 is too small to tow 10k pounds everyday anyway so you should probably haul less water.
Yep it does vary some from state to state. I have cdl’s I’m pretty sure cdl is 26k and over. Yea I agree on the f150. It dont have much pulling but I have to make it work for a little while. Luckily its a 5 speed w/ helper springs. I wont be hauling too much.
