Dollar Store Burner Cover

After looking @Racer bubble wrap burner cover it prompted me to start looking for something I could use after I had spent the afternoon completely pulling my new to me $200 burner apart. It was a horrid mess inside but it just needed a flow switch which means I stole it. Well after scouring the double u double u double u I was like hell do they even make them because I’m not finding anything! I opted for a $1 9" pie pan from Dollar Tree and a $2 12" flat bungee from Northern Tool. What are you guys using and where did you get it? If I don’t find anything I guess I’ll epoxy some nice magnets on it and ditch the janky bungee strap.

Saw a video awhile back and the burners had these on them.

LOL, my bubble wrap one has bit the dust. Have moved up to industrial strength trash bag over the whole thing. Thinking smoker cover next.

Yeah, those came to mind but I really thought vendors would have something that was specifically made for vertical burners. I saw those on this enclosed trailer build to vent the exhaust outside. https://youtu.be/hzGpKF3q_8M?t=31s

I’m happy to hear you gave yourself an upgrade. Those 3 mil “contractor” bags get jobs done!

That’s a great idea. I totally forgot about those outdoor covers. It would last a good while so I may check it out and return it if it’s not a nice fit. I wish my wife knew her way around a sewing machine because I’m in the market for a new bench seat cover too lol

Only problem is you’d need to slit it for it to fit around the outgoing water port at the top. Then slide it on. Little sewing shop down the street that I could probably get to sew on a couple of velcro strips and double stitch the edges where I had to slit though.

It’s amazing though that none of the heater manf. make a stainless or aluminum cap with some set screws built in. Probably don’t want the liability if some idiot forgot to remove before firing up.
