Buffer Tank Set-Up

I’m preparing to go from a 4 GPM to a 8 GPM set-up, Belt Drive machine.
I found a 125 buffer tank for $100.00.
My problem is “Space”!
The tank fits perfectly in available space without the valve at the bottom, but it won’t fit with valve!
Does the buffer tank need to be plumbed out of bottom, or can I run my supply line through the top?
Thanks for advice!

A suplly line should always be run out of the bottom letting gravity help with feeding the pump. Is the valve threaded on? If so could it be removed and an elbow installed then valve.

The space available leaves no room for an elbow. I guess I will need to find a smaller tank
Thanks!

What is the average gpm the house’s in your are put out?
If you get a smaller buffer and the house flow cant keep up you will be starting and stopping a lot.

As for going through the top, a belt machine should be able to pull from the top but i wouldn’t want to run like that long term.

Would there be enough space to install a bulkhead on one of those legs? Looks like a decent amount of flat area, with 8 possible points for installation.

I’m just going to add a trailer along with my upgrade. Problem solved!

Great suggestion! I’ll look into that.

Wish I could find a 125 gal for $100. Nice find
