Any of you guys ever bid on state contracts?

Whats up guys, ive been looking into this for quite some time and just havent really found any solid places to start. Ive been looking to expand into larger scale jobs such as state contracts, can anybody give me any advice on where to locate contracts to bid on or who to speak to? We have done other things in the past rather than just pressure cleaning, general property maintenance and such.

Your local City might be easier to contact than the state. Maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Are you a DVBE, MBE, or 8a? If not, you probably shouldn’t waste your time. Our government is corrupt and prefers to issue contracts to “disadvantaged” businesses and minorities. Often times cleaning and pressure washing contracts get issued to construction companies who then sub the job out to a smaller company. It then becomes a bidding war because the construction companies usually give it to the lowest bidder.

Also, doing public works projects is so different from doing private work that you would most likely need to change your business model and only do public projects. Pretty much all government contractors that I know do not do private work.
