I’m gonna test it out and see. I went by the rule of gpmx4 equals surface cleaner size. If it’s too slow for me, I’ll get a 16". I’ll keep the 20 cuz I’m gong to go to an 8gpm eventually anyway.
You’ll love the 20" whisper wash and the 5.5 will push it fine. Plus when you eventually upgrade to an even larger machine, the WW will grow with you. all you’ll want to do is add a 4 nozzle bar for less than $100. You made a good choice in your machine and surface cleaner to grow that side of your business. You’ll have a quick payback.
How do the 4 nozzle bars work? I saw one in a video today and was curious. It seems like it should make it less effective by having 2 extra openings but I was impressed.
Reason you need bigger machine to run them. Just gives you some overlap on nozzles and wider swath. Your pressure per nozzle will be similar say 4gpm with 2 nozzles versus 8gpm with 4 nozzles
You’re going to love that machine. Once you play around with it, you’ll be downstreaming your house washes too. You can fly compared to softwashing in certain situations. But it’s nice to have both capabilities. Go buy you a M5DS nozzle and you’ll be good to go.
I did my first pool deck last week with this setup and it worked great. I could stand to be able to walk a touch faster, but overall, I was impressed. I’ll be trying a downstream house wash this coming week. What do you recommend for DS mix? I use 12.5% SH, so should I DS it straight or delute it down in the bucket?
How dirty is the house? Vinyl, wood or brick? It’s very rare you need straight bleach. Most the time my mix similar to innocentbystander’s except for the soap. Usually about 2 parts SH and 3 parts water unless really dirty and then would probably do 3 parts Sh to 2 water plus soap. That’s using 10-1 injector.
Will that nozzle pull soap regardless of where it is set to? I tried a downstream on a friend’s house today. I used my nozzle pack from my softwash setup and the tip that reaches 2 and 3 stories up isn’t pulling soap.
The fan tip from my softwash did pull. I made it a little more sudsy just to be sure. Maybe I should try it with the tips that came with the machine? That would still leave me to figure out how to soap up high.
The gun came with the machine, so I would assume it’s suitable for it? I have the injector as the first thing out of the pump. I didn’t know that I could put it anywhere else…
Gun that came with machine is probably junk. Put injector at hose reel. If no reel run a 1 or 2 foot jumper from pump. Water needs to straighten and be less turbulent when it hits the injector.
