Home Advisor Leads

Hmm…still seems a bit grimy…i specifically asked them if there would be any online sites with my name and their number besides the HA site and they explicitly said no…

Call them and tell them you don’t want it up there. Maybe they’ll pull it.

3 reasons why I don’t care if it’s on 411.

  1. I almost always answer my phone unless I just don’t hear it.
  2. People don’t use 411 anymore. I bet $100 I’ve missed 3 calls total from 411 in 2 years. 99% of people searching for a number or service find you on Google. There’s probably more people Asking Jeeves than using 411.
  3. This is the most important reason to me.
411 Business Listing: What’s All the Fuss About?

I don’t have to pay the monthly fee for an 800 number or listing on 411. What I do pay for are leads that turn into business.

The number on 411.com for me isn’t an 800…its a local number…

Listen to @squidskc he’s right on. HomeAdvisor has been nothing but phenomenal for my business and that could be an understatement. If you know how to use it, build a reputation with HomeAdvisor, and have a good online presence it can do you wonders.

That’s not to say some customers aren’t the “smartest” and a lead can be inaccurate here or there. HomeAdvisor has always been great at giving lead credits/refunds.

Everything in this game is a learning curve and an experience, so take it as you wish. Good luck!

That’s weird. I’d definitely call and request an 800 number.

I went for it…I paid the $288 membership fee to HA yesterday. Just waiting for them to clear my background now. Hopefully I will be getting leads by tomorrow

Hey squid, a friend of mine does pools, he said he had his HA lead budget at around 500$ i think and was getting just a few leads, until he called and changed it to 2k and got like 6new clients in a week
Is that how the system works?
I think my lead budget is at 400$ and got one lead almost a month ago, and i think i got when i called to ask why they charged me the 60$ for mHelpDesk.

That’s how it works. The bigger your marketing budget the more leads you’re
going to get obviously. But I have not run into a single situation in two
years that it hasn’t paid for itself and then some. As far as that
helpdesk, I told them when I first signed up I don’t want anything to do
with it. I don’t want to pay for extra software and they took it off that
day.

But if I didn’t and they charged me $60 for it, I’d call back and try to
get $60 in the lead credit. I wouldn’t worry about getting the cash back.
$60 is anywhere from 3 to 4 leads for me.

Yes i called and that’s what they did.

I’ll call now to up my budget

It’s wonderful. One of the house washes from the HA leads above turned into house, driveway, garage floor, and we’re scheduling the roof in mid august. $16.25 for a lead that is going to gross $2k.

HA is a beautiful thing. Lol

You got a discounted membership fee! I think I paid $340. Totally worth it!

Be the first to call and your close rate will be 70% or better!

My rep seems like he is a pretty decent guy. Within 30 minutes of
activating my account I got two leads. One I am sure I will close tomorrow
the other one never picked up my return call. And I called her within 30
seconds of getting the text message and email for the lead. Have you had a
good experience with Home Advisor in the way of getting credit for the
leads that do not answer your call?

Yeah. The first few I had to pester them just a little and they credited it
since they don’t “technically have to”. Now when I call I talk to a
different person every time and there must be a note in the system because
they don’t hassle me about it all. They know customers love us and we’re
giving them money every week.

Use the resources on HomeAdvisor’s site. Ask for reviews every time.
There’s articles, even national trends that you can use to your advantage.
Like if more people nationwide have asked for landscapers in the last 30
days, you can make friends with a good local landscaper and refer them.

Boom. You’re a respected and connected expert. Also, learn how landscaping
connects to what you do.

If the landscape has mulch and the house has artillery fungus. Let them
know that can be avoided by mixing the mulch with mushroom soil. Or if you
notice water spots or rust stains on the house, let them know the
sprinklers probably need fine tuned to spray away from the house.

Make friends with a gutter guy too. Superrrrr helpful.

The little stuff matters.

Thank you SOOO much for the advise! All seem like great ideas. I love the
networking with the gutter guys and landscaping!
So my journey begins with HA. lol. Thank you again for the advise. I tend
to stay quiet in the forum for fear of being slammed with ridicule. Have a
great day man! Thank you again

Embrace the ridicule, let it roll off your back knowing no one is responsible for paying your bills except you.

Being ridiculed kind of like pledging at a fraternity. Have to take a little hazing.
