I wear wool socks every day. They get a bad rap. They’ll keep your feet dry, breath well, and don’t stink. Wool is basically magic. My hunting boots have wool insoles.

Squid look at 5.11 or similar pants. I am a fireman and we were them on duty but I have found that they are bleach resistant. I’ve been wearing them now and not a single bleach stain. And if you get the right pair they breath well too. I’m assuming they are some kind of poly blend. Seems the poly blends hold up well to bleach.
It’s the best… but hard to whip up in a survival situation. Tacos I can make from poison ivy and owl meat should the situation call for it.
I have a couple pair of 5.11 pants, but dickies are half the price. I’m gonna check them out 1st.

Yea, 5.11’s definitely aren’t cheap. I have some Truspec’s too that I actually like better than the 5.11’s and they are a little less, but not much. Don’t blame ya for trying the dickies first.
I have a bunch of 5.11’s in several different materials. Some of my first ones felt like more of a cotton blend of sorts and they would stain easy and were HOT! The newer ones I’m getting now are the ones that are stain resistant and they seem to breath better and much cooler. I think they still make some of the other materials, but I like this new stuff that I assume is some kind of poly blend.
Merino wool everyday. Darn tough brand has a lifetime warranty. Get a hole and send them back for a new pair.

I guess I’m lucky on this one because the representative of 5.11 brand for my Country, faaar away from U.S. is my first neighbor, my wife used to work there, and I have like 4-5 pair of 5.11 pants and love them, he used to give me a really good price on them but my wife had to pay for them as an employee she had a good sale often, other good thing is I like them a lot, and I’m used with them and will feel comfortable like I’m not wearing a uniform at all, the bad side of this is I don’t know if I’m getting that big sale now that my wife doesn’t work there anymore, but will see.
