Does anyone market for fall cleanup?

Know your market. Don’t install foam where you have acorns or pine trees.

Anytime. But… if you think more people are going to say yes to the exterior cleaning of the gutters then the interior cleaning of the gutters you may be in for a surprise.

I have only had a handful of people ask about cleaning them out, but constantly have people asking to brighten them. I do however see a benefit to offering the service. I also feel that it will be a very easy sell.

Plus the setup you are saying is like $300. I know it’s not much, but I have to meet goals before I can make more expenses this month. Next week is my reinvest week

I got 100ft of extension cords, do you think I will need more?

Order of Importance:

  1. Oxygen
  2. Water
  3. Loving friends & family.
  4. Extension cords
  5. Mexican Food

Lol. 100’ should be sufficient, but another 50’ won’t hurt.

Just a suggestion, make sure the extension cords will more than carry the load you plan on putting on it. Besides preventing a fire it will also extend the life of your equipment. I carry 200’ of 10 and 12 ga cords and I am just using them for a Graco paint rig.

Good point. Not all extension cords are created equal. Mine are all 12 gauge Yellow Jacket brand extension cords. When I was a carpenter it took more power than you would imagine to run a Milwaukee worm drive circular saw with max efficiency. And you’re right. Your motors will last longer if you’re using them as they’re designed.

I am getting around to buying this equipment and getting my yard signs ready. Quick question, do you think you would be able to reach a second story with the shop vac?

Would it loose suction at that length? Would I need to get a more powerful shop vac?

I’m glad you asked this so I can update it. The one I linked above works for me. We had some wet weather and I found the black pipe would suck itself to the bottom of the gutter and mud would build up inside. I cut the part that goes into the gutter at a 45 degree and so it went into a point. Still had a mud problem. I lengthened the curve a few inches so it wasn’t such a tight corner and started spraying a little Pam in the end tube. Not in the hose or bottom tube so I didn’t clog up the filter.

Not kidding. But I have yet to have another gutter job with it since.

It’s been working beautifully up until now, but may start pricing out gutter vacs designed exclusively for the purpose of cleaning gutters like SkyVac.

I just checked out the sky vac and they look pretty nice. https://skyvacusa.com/collections/professional-gutter-cleaning/products/skyvac-atom
I just dont have the 900 dollars to buy that setup. Maybe next year if my fall cleanup marketing takes off.

Sorry, but I need clarification before I make the purchase. You said it works for you, does that mean it works for you doing the 2nd story gutters? I seen your video, I am just not sure how high 2nd story gutters useally are.

Two stories here usually means split level. Everyone has a basement. Two 5 foot lengths and occasionally the 3 works for me.

Like IBS said, it depends on your market, but we don’t usually quote gutters unless we know we can do it.

That being said, if your area is all single stories it should work just fine. If you have nothing but 2 stories, might make sense to buy a bigger vacuum.

At the end of the day, I kinda regret posting this thing as a winner only to have it let me down after the fact. It did the job, but it would’ve been faster from a ladder on the last two.

Well, not much you can do about posting something that was working. I will look into a more powerful shop vac. Most of the houses in this area are bungalows and single story.

I am going to offer it in my fall cleanup marketing. Getting two 170mph leaf blowers to bag and remove leafs, house wash, and gutter cleaning / brightening / gutter gaurds on single story homes.

I think it will be successful.

I’m not really seeing anything that seems more powerful than what you showed me. Everything seems to be around 6.5hp and no one seems to be mentioning suction pressure.

Any ideas on finding a more powerful machine?
