8 GPM is where it at

Yeah I like stuff to be simple

Wait till you start putting other stuff on there, like SCs, ladders, degreaser 5gls, roof pump, battery, cones, etc.

He still lives up the road from me but doesn’t wash anymore. He only washed part time before I believe.

Still washing everyday

I haul a trailer, and my rule is either FULL tank or EMPTY… (no exceptions) The water moving around will kill your transmission in no time

No it will not…

Honestly, do you ever stop to think before posting something?

Plenty of service trucks of all sizes haul partially filled tanks around…you don’t see them constantly torn up.

Ok, maybe not in ā€œno timeā€ but it will cut the life of that transmission! Absolutely guaranteed… If you think otherwise you have no clue what your speaking about…

And yes! When I use to work in a carpet cleaning company running 20+ vans it was always the transmissions leaving us stranded, we hauled water and waste water around all day… Trust me it happens

I don’t think…I know.

It is not the water sloshing around…it is the WEIGHT of the water generating extra heat in the transmission.

I have been around trucks hauling all types of stuff my entire life…water sloshing effects braking distance and brake wear more than it ever will a transmission.

And, your experience with the carpet trucks was probably due more to improper transmission fluid/filter service interval than anything else. When a vehicle is carrying heavier loads, that increases transmission heat and requires more frequent fluid/filter changes and it needs a trans fluid cooler placed in front of the radiator in addition to the one that comes from the factory that circulates through the radiator.

I’ve seen a lot of guys say that black corrugated drain pipe works good for a baffle. Also the orange construction netting. Cram as much of either as you can get in your tank, and it is supposed to make a pretty big difference.

You can also buy special baffle balls, but they are more expensive than these methods.

Here’s a video @Jason_Geiman1 made on the drain pipe:

Here’s a link to the orange netting:
